Cycling Clubs, really serious cyclists doing really serious things, probably not having any fun.
That’s what a lot of people seem to think. In reality joining a cycling club is one of the best things you can do.
Most clubs have weekly club runs throughout the year, with time trials, road races and other events regularly being held.

Serious Club Cyclists Being Serious
The Christmas break is over & in theory you should all be back on your bike making the most of the (drier) weather. We’ve got loads of exciting things planned for 2013 & can’t wait to share them all with you.
This Sunday we’ll be back on our bikes with the first Steady Sunday ride of the year, a gentle 30 mile spin setting off from Mud Dock Deli at 10am, bring a bike (most people ride fixed) & come for a chilled out ride with a great group of people without too many hills.
My first proper ride of 2013 was a fun one with a few teething/bottle loosing/puncture issues. Here’s a few photos from along the way:
Or so I thought.
Yesterday Tim went riding in the rain. I had many excuses why I wasn’t riding, but it was mainly because I’m lazy.
When I saw the weather today I had no excuse. The BSCC Inter Club TT is this Wednesday so I needed to get my legs moving again.
I set off in dry warm weather, perfect riding conditions for a few miles after work. I’m currently running a 64 gear inch due to a mismatch of parts so a fairly relaxed ride was the plan.
Cruising about in the dry was such a change, until after about 52 minutes and 54 seconds of this, the rain came back!! At this point I’d covered just over 20 miles and was feeling hungry, with TDO Tuesday tomorrow and the BSCC Inter Club TT on Wednesday, I decided to head home. Slightly wet, but thankfully not cold.
